[Saba Sports News] During a recent Serie A match
between AC Milan and Udinese, AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan was subjected to
racial abuse by Udinese fans in the stadium. Maignan initially considered
leaving the game and even left the field to return to the locker room. However,
he ultimately decided to come back and finish the match. The news of Maignan’s
discrimination and insults sparked dissatisfaction within AC Milan. In response
to the incident, French national team coach Didier Deschamps took to social
media to express his support for Maignan. Deschamps posted a message condemning
the fans who racially discriminated against and insulted Maignan. He called for
Serie A to address the issue and impose severe punishments on the individuals
involved. Deschamps emphasized that the treatment Maignan received during the
match was intolerable and that racially aggravated insults were unacceptable.
He firmly stated that racism has no place anywhere and should be dealt with
effectively.
