[Saba Sports News] The Pran Pratishtha ceremony of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya took place on January 22, drawing numerous celebrities. Despite initial speculation, a video suggested Virat Kohli attended, showing him in a black kurta, surrounded by security. This video, along with a newspaper image featuring Kohli and other celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, and the Ambanis at the event, sparked discussions online.
Upon closer examination, it becomes clear that Kohli’s photo and the video are from his visit to Shiv Sena leader Rahul Kanal’s residence on September 20, 2024, for Ganpati blessings post-Asia Cup 2023, not the Ram Mandir event. The video is thus outdated, and the newspaper image appears either morphed or mistakenly includes an old photo.
Contrary to rumors, Kohli didn’t attend the Ram Mandir ceremony due to personal reasons, also causing him to miss the first two Tests against England. The only current Indian cricket team member present was Ravindra Jadeja, alongside his wife Rivaba. Former cricketers Sachin Tendulkar, Venkatesh Prasad, and Anil Kumble also attended the event.
