[Saba Sports News] India head coach Amol Muzumdar expressed confidence on captain Harmanpreet Kaur to find her way back to form as her struggles with the bat extended throughout the multi-format series against Australia.
Harmanpreet had recorded the scores of 49 and 44 in the one-off Test versus England. However, in a drastic change of form, she could only manage to amass 26 runs in the six innings she played against Australia across the formats.
She was dismissed for a duck in a one-off Test. Poor form continued to plague Harmanpreet in the white-ball leg as she registered the scores of 9, 5 and 3 in the ODI series, and 6 and 3 in the T20I series.
Although the right-hander seems to be woefully out-of-form, Muzumdar does not believe so. He reminded about Harmanpreet’s 40-run knocks in the England Tests while asserting that every cricketer goes through a low phase.
“I wouldn’t say (Harmanpreet is out of form) across formats. In Test matches, she got a 49 and then 44 not out (against England). In the T20Is, it happens to every cricketer. She’s been a great player for India. I’m sure you:ll see some bright performances (from her) in the near future,” Muzumdar said as quoted in the post-match presser.
While India won the Test match, Australia clinched the ODI and T20I series.
