[Saba Sports News] India is abuzz with excitement for the Pran Pratishtha ceremony of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya on January 22. This significant religious event, marking the homecoming of Ram Lalla (Child Lord Ram), is attracting notable figures from the cricket world.
Amidst this fervor, South African cricketer Keshav Maharaj conveyed his heartfelt wishes for the ceremony. In a social media post, he expressed his hope for peace, harmony, and spiritual enlightenment for all. Maharaj’s message read, “Namaste Everyone. Wishing Mahesh, the Hindu community, and South Africa the best for Ram Mandir’s inauguration in Ayodhya. May it bring peace, harmony, and spiritual enlightenment. Jai Shree Ram.”
Maharaj, with his Indian heritage and Hindu faith, is known for his spiritual practices and has even displayed the ‘Om’ symbol on his bat. In South Africa, his batting appearances are often accompanied by the devotional ‘Ram Siya Ram’ hymn. His spiritual connection was highlighted during the India-South Africa T20I series, with KL Rahul commenting on his entry music and Virat Kohli mimicking Lord Ram’s bow and arrow pose during the second Test in Centurion.
Several cricket legends like Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni, Kapil Dev, Sunil Gavaskar, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Ravindra Jadeja are also expected to attend the Ram Mandir consecration in Ayodhya.
