[Saba Sports News] During the first quarter of Wednesday night’s Phoenix Suns vs. Dallas Mavericks game at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas, Kevin Durant, Grant Williams, and Jusuf Nurkic were each issued technical fouls following a shoving altercation.
Early in the game, Williams was marking Durant closely. About four minutes in, the two players engaged in a bit of shoving, resulting in Durant falling to the ground, with Williams standing over him.
Nurkic, the Suns’ center, reacted to Williams’ stance over Durant by pushing the Mavericks forward, which escalated into a scuffle. Consequently, technical fouls were assessed to all three involved.
Williams and Durant have a notable history. Williams, previously with the Celtics, has guarded Durant, formerly of the Nets, in past encounters between Boston and Brooklyn. Williams has even referred to Durant as the most challenging player he has had to defend.
