Sports News] It is widely known that Hollywood movie stars Ryan Reynolds and
Rob McElhenney are the owners of English League Two team Wrexham, and they have
transformed the club into a reality show. Recent reports suggest that Wrexham
are expected to generate revenue of £20 million in 2023, primarily through the
success of their documentaries that have gained significant traction on the
internet, as well as various marketing initiatives. Comparatively, the average
income for English Championship clubs is around £25 million, and many teams
also benefit from “parachute payments” following relegation from the
Premier League. In terms of revenue alone, Wrexham surpasse their counterparts
in the league by a significant margin. This substantial revenue provides
Wrexham with ample resources and enables the club to pursue ambitious goals and
further expand. Currently, Wrexham hold the second position in the English
League Two standings. If they maintain the momentum, they have a strong chance
of achieving back-to-back promotions, progressing from the amateur league to
the English League One.
