[Saba Sports News] Afghanistan’s star bowler Naveen-ul-Haq has expressed high regard for Indian cricketer KL Rahul, commending his exceptional leadership as the captain of the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the IPL. Naveen enjoyed playing under Rahul’s captaincy and is looking forward to another fruitful season with him.
In anticipation of the T20I series between India and Afghanistan, Naveen highlighted Rahul’s inspirational leadership style in the IPL, noting his ability to motivate and allow players the freedom to express themselves on the field. He was particularly impressed by Rahul’s work ethic and leadership skills.
“He is a great leader and human being, giving players liberty and motivation. His work ethic is amazing, and I’m excited to be part of the team he leads,” Naveen stated in an interview.
Naveen has been retained by LSG for the IPL 2024, following a strong performance in the 2023 season. He aims to continue delivering impressive bowling amidst the league’s competitive environment.
“I’m really excited for another season with LSG and look forward to a superb IPL season. We have good competition,” Naveen added.
Reflecting on LSG’s journey in IPL 2023, the team reached the knockout stages for the second consecutive year but was eliminated by Mumbai Indians in the playoffs, finishing third in the group stage with 17 points from 14 matches. With the 17th edition of the IPL approaching, LSG is focused on surpassing their previous performances.
