[Saba Sports News] There’s a growing understanding of when Draymond Green, the Golden State Warriors’ notable player, might return from his current suspension. Green has been absent for six games, including the Christmas Day game against the Denver Nuggets. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski suggests a consensus that Green’s suspension might last between 11 to 13 games, assuming no complications arise in his recovery process.
The update also mentions that Green is regularly engaging in Zoom meetings to evaluate his readiness for reinstatement. These meetings reportedly involve representatives from the Warriors, the NBA, and the players’ union.
The NBA has previously explained that Green’s indefinite suspension is more rehabilitative than punitive. If the suspension lasts for the anticipated 11 to 13 games, Green, who is 33, could return during the latter part of the Warriors’ 7-game homestand in mid-January.
The Warriors will play the Detroit Pistons on January 5, the Toronto Raptors on January 7, and the New Orleans Pelicans on January 10, all within the speculated duration of Green’s suspension. Following this homestand, the team will go on a 4-game road trip.
Despite Green’s absence, the Warriors have performed well, boasting a 5-1 record in the first six games since his suspension for an incident involving Phoenix Suns center Jusuf Nurkic earlier in the month. This success may reduce the urgency to hasten Green’s return.
