[Saba Sports News] Rich Paul firmly dismissed the rumors suggesting LeBron James might be traded from the Los Angeles Lakers. Following a report by David Pingalore, a TV reporter in Los Angeles, claiming the Lakers were considering trading James and were nearing a deal with a partner, Paul, James’ long-standing agent, labeled the rumors as baseless. He confirmed to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, “LeBron won’t be traded, and we aren’t asking to be,” offering a strong rebuttal to the speculation.
Amidst growing curiosity, partly fueled by James’ social media activities and his along with Anthony Davis’ absence from the Lakers’ recent game against the Boston Celtics, Paul’s statement seeks to put an end to the trade talks.
James, who earns $47 million this season with a $51.4 million player option for the next, remains a central figure for the Lakers, who are at a .500 record with the trade deadline approaching on February 8.
