Sports News] Recently, England’s legendary football star Wayne Rooney made an
appearance on a talk show where he disclosed a scandal from his childhood for
the first time. Rooney admitted that during his time in the youth training
team, he used to secretly smoke and drink when there were no matches. He
confessed that at that time, he felt he couldn’t live without these habits. It
was only later when he was caught by his youth team coach that he started to
control himself. Rooney also candidly admitted that alcohol had a negative
impact on his career. He stated, “When you reflect on the past, I had
different issues. Drinking too much alcohol obviously had an impact on
me.” Rooney retired from professional football in January 2021 and
subsequently began his coaching career. However, his coaching results have not
been ideal. He has managed three teams: Derby County, Washington United, and
Birmingham City, but under his leadership, these teams have struggled, with a
winning rate of less than 30%.
