[Saba Sports News] New Zealand fast-bowler Tim Southee explored uncharted territory in T20Is on Friday, poaching a massive record.
In the first T20I of the five-match series between New Zealand and Pakistan, Southee claimed four scalps, becoming the first bowler to take 150 wickets in the format.
In the 18th over of the second innings, Abbas Afridi holed out off Southee’s bowling as the Kiwi pacer completed the landmark.
In the same over, he dismissed Haris Rauf as Pakistan got bowled out for 180. New Zealand took 1-0 lead in the series with a 46-run win.
Southee has featured in 118 T20I matches for the Black Caps so far, bagging 151 wickets at an average of 22.96 and an economy rate of 8.11.
The 35-year-old is the highest wicket-taker in T20Is. Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan, who has taken 140 T20I wickets, is following him in the list.
