[Saba Sports News] Following the Dallas Mavericks’ preseason opener at the 2023 Abu Dhabi Games, Luka Doncic addressed the media and provided an update on his health, which had been a concern due to injuries during the FIBA World Cup.
Doncic stated, “My injury is way better. It’s improving every day.”
During the previous season, Doncic had been dealing with an undisclosed thigh injury, and it persisted during the FIBA World Cup. Despite playing through the injury, he faced challenges during those games, particularly as the tournament progressed.
In the preseason matchup, Luka Doncic had an impressive performance, scoring 25 points effortlessly in just 16 minutes of play, despite the team’s loss. While it was a preseason game, it’s evident that the Mavericks are focused on protecting their star players, as neither Doncic nor Kyrie Irving played in the second half, even though the team made a significant comeback from a 23-point deficit to a five-point margin in the third quarter.
