(sabasports report) Five Chinese athletes Li Yueyao, Wu Xiaowei, Jiang Haidong, Wang Xuetao and He Feng won five gold MEDALS in the wushu sanda finals of the Hangzhou Asian Games on Sept 28 at the Guali Sports Center in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province. At this point, the Hangzhou Asian Games Wushu project officially ended, the Chinese wushu team reported 11 projects all won gold.

On the same day, Li Yueyao took the lead and won the gold medal by defeating Iran 2-0 in the final of the women’s 52kg division in Sanda. As the champion of this event in the last Asian Games, Li Yueyao successfully defended her title. Wu Xiaowei defeated India 2-0 in the women’s 60kg Sanda final to win the gold medal. He Feng defeated Iran 2:1 in the men’s 70kg final in Sanda.

Sanda is a combination of skill and strength, in fact, many athletes are the same, countless sweat and tears in exchange for the joy of victory. As a traditional Chinese sport, Wushu is moving from China to the international stage. Sanda men’s 56 kg champion Jiang Haidong said, “In recent years, the technical level of sanda in Southeast Asia and other places has improved significantly, which is a good phenomenon for the development of martial arts, and I hope more people participate in this project.”
