Spanish media, the popular audio and video company Netflix is currently in the
process of filming a documentary about Vinicius Junior, the La Liga star from
Real Madrid. The documentary is scheduled to be released in 2025. Netflix has
obtained permission to film Vinicius during this season, including his presence
at away games and at the Bernabeu stadium. Vinicius began his career with
Flamengo in Brazil and moved to Real Madrid in La Liga in 2018. Since then, he
has achieved success with the team, winning the La Liga championship and the
Champions League. The documentary will showcase Vinicius’ journey to glory with
Real Madrid, shedding light on unknown aspects of his life at the club,
including incidents of racial discrimination he has faced. It will also feature
footage of him receiving the Socrates Award, which is an addition to the Golden
Globe Awards and recognizes football players who engage in charitable work.
Vinicius won the 2023 Socrates Award for his contributions to Brazilian
children’s education and his stance against racial discrimination. The
documentary aims to provide a comprehensive portrayal of Vinicius’ career and
personal experiences while highlighting his achievements and tackling important
social issues.
