[Saba Sports News] Milwaukee Bucks guard Patrick Beverley expressed dissatisfaction with the Philadelphia 76ers’ approach to replacing him. On “The Pat Bev Podcast,” co-host Adam Ferrone raised the question of whether the 76ers had intended to substitute Beverley with Kyle Lowry long before the transition occurred. Beverley, without outright denying the idea, chose to issue a caution to his former team about their future encounters.
Beverley acknowledged the move with a level of respect, noting, “Doc (Rivers) came and got his guy. (Nick) Nurse went and got his guy, Kyle,” but he also vowed to be especially competitive against Lowry when facing Philadelphia, stating, “I’m on Kyle’s a– when we play Philly, straight up. That’s just how it go, like ‘How dare you?’”
Previously, Beverley had insinuated that 76ers GM Daryl Morey was dishonest about his intentions to trade Beverley, especially since Morey’s assurance came shortly after Lowry was traded from Miami to Charlotte, with immediate speculation about Lowry’s buyout—though this didn’t materialize until February 11.
Beverley perceives the situation as the 76ers misleading him while planning to bring in Lowry, who has a strong connection with coach Nick Nurse from their time with the Raptors. Despite Beverley’s move to Milwaukee in a trade for Cameron Payne and the Sixers’ acquisition of Lowry, the dynamics of the situation suggest a complex narrative.
With the Bucks set to face the 76ers soon, Beverley’s comments hint at a charged matchup, although it remains to be seen how significant a role Lowry will play, given his absence from games since January 21.
