[Saba Sports News] Indian cricket star and wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant is on the brink of full fitness, eagerly preparing to lead the Delhi Capitals in the upcoming IPL season.
He has been actively engaging with his fans through social media, sharing updates on his recovery journey. A recent video that captured attention showed him playing marbles with local children, demonstrating his improving physical condition in a light-hearted moment.
“After ages. Quite random in neighbourhood,” Pant wrote on the IG story.
Delhi Capitals’ co-owner Parth Jindal recently confirmed Pant’s readiness for the IPL, indicating that while Pant will start the tournament playing only as a batsman, his role could expand based on his fitness progress. The decision underscores a cautious approach, prioritizing Pant’s long-term health following his recovery from a severe car accident in late 2022.
Team director Sourav Ganguly echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the importance of not rushing Pant’s return to full duties. The management intends to carefully monitor his condition, ensuring he is cleared by the National Cricket Academy before making any definitive decisions about his role, especially concerning his responsibilities as captain. The focus is on a gradual reintroduction to competitive cricket, safeguarding his promising career ahead.
