[Saba Sports News] The Royal Challengers Bangalore are poised for a significant rebranding, hinting at a name change before the IPL 2024. This isn’t the first alteration for the team; they’ve previously updated their logo amidst fan calls for a name revision. At the upcoming RCB Unbox Event scheduled for March 19, the team, led by Faf du Plessis, is expected to reveal a new name, likely switching “Bangalore” to “Bengaluru” in response to long-standing local demand. While official confirmation is pending, fans anticipate this well-supported update.
The event will also likely unveil the team’s new jersey and other undisclosed surprises. Currently, the Indian players from RCB have commenced their preparations, though the senior members, including Virat Kohli, are awaited. Kohli’s participation is particularly scrutinized, given speculations about his place in the T20 World Cup squad and his absence from public view post his visit to England.
RCB is scheduled to kick off their IPL campaign against Chennai Super Kings on March 22 at Chennai’s M.A. Chidambaram Stadium, with plans to adapt to the spinner-friendly conditions immediately after the Unbox Event. The anticipation builds not just for the team’s rebranding but also for their performance in the upcoming season.
