[Saba Sports News] The stage was set for the opening game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season as the iconic Chepauk Stadium hosted the clash between the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).
Renowned British painter Andy Brown, celebrated for his live sports event paintings worldwide, captured the scene with his brush and canvas, adding his unique touch to the event.
With a portfolio spanning over 150 stadiums across 20 countries, Brown has established himself as a master storyteller through his vibrant artworks. His recent appearance during the India vs England Test showcased his talent to a global audience, including a portrait of Indian head coach Rahul Dravid and a gift to England’s wicketkeeper Johny Bairstow.
Following the IPL opening match, Brown shared his latest masterpiece on his official social media account, expressing gratitude to IPL fans for their support and warm welcome. Meanwhile, on the field, RCB posted a total of 173/6, driven by Anuj Rawat’s explosive 48 off 25 balls and Dinesh Karthik’s thunderous 38 off 26. In response, CSK chased down the target with Rachin Ravindra’s fiery 37 off 15 and Shivam Dube’s unbeaten 34 off 28, securing a thrilling six-wicket victory with eight balls to spare. Mustafizur Rahman’s remarkable figures of 4/29 earned him the Player of the Match award.
CSK’s strong start to the campaign sets the stage for their upcoming match against the Gujarat Titans, led by Faf du Plessis. The team aims to address any shortcomings and return stronger in their subsequent fixture against the Punjab Kings.
