[Saba Sports News] According to reports
from Italian media, the Italian Super Cup for the upcoming season will take
place in Saudi Arabia in January 2025. However, the specific teams
participating in the tournament will be determined in April of this year. The
Serie A Professional League recently held a video conference meeting and
confirmed that the 2025 Italian Super Cup will once again be hosted in Saudi
Arabia, scheduled to take place from January 3rd to 7th next year. However, it
remains undecided whether the competition will involve two teams (Serie A champion
and Italian Cup champion) or be expanded to include four teams (Serie A
champion, runner-up, Italian Cup champion, and runner-up), as was the case in
the current season. The final decision on the number of participating teams in
the Super Cup will be made through a vote by all the teams during the Serie A
Professional League meeting on April 22nd this year. Additionally, Serie A
officials have announced that a minute’s silence will be observed before the
next round of Serie A matches to honor the passing of Fiorentina general
manager Barone, who succumbed to an illness. Furthermore, the broadcast rights
for Serie A from 2024 to 2027 have been successfully sold to Romania, Malta,
and Iceland.
