Sports News] Recently, Malaysian badminton icon Lee Chong Wei gave an interview
to the media where he shared that throughout his career, there were only two
players who were able to genuinely impress him. These players are Lin Dan and
Taufik Hidayat. Taufik, representing Indonesia, participated in five Olympic
Games and secured four Olympic medals, including two gold medals. His
exceptional skills and remarkable performances on the badminton court have
established him as a legend in the sport. Lin Dan, representing China, competed
in three Olympic Games and won two gold medals. His agility, speed, composure,
and decisiveness on the court have made him a superstar in the world of
badminton. In comparison, Lee Chong Wei, representing Malaysia, participated in
three Olympic Games but earned three silver medals. He is often referred to as
the “uncrowned king” of Olympic badminton by his fans. Some
supporters believe that Lee Chong Wei places great importance on Olympic
achievements. As a result, he holds admiration for players who have achieved
better Olympic results than him during the same period of their careers.
