[Saba Sports News] The T20 match wasn’t a nail-biter, but it offered numerous thrilling moments for the packed crowd at Visakhapatnam.
Rishabh Pant’s comeback fifty, Matheesha Pathirana’s magical deliveries, and Khaleel Ahmed’s stellar powerplay showcased Delhi Capitals’ dominance in the 20-run victory over Chennai Super Kings. Despite MS Dhoni’s valiant effort of 37* (16b) after a long hiatus from competitive cricket, CSK fell short.
DC began aggressively with openers Dave Warner and Prithvi Shaw, who blazed through the initial overs until Warner’s dismissal on 52 and Shaw’s on 43. However, DC’s batting order adjustments, with Pant at No.3 and Mitchell Marsh at No.4, kept the momentum alive. Even Pathirana’s fiery 15th over couldn’t derail DC as they posted a formidable 191.
In response, CSK struggled in the powerplay despite Ajinkya Rahane’s elegant strokes and Daryll Mitchell’s efforts. Mukesh Kumar’s late strikes sealed the victory for DC, leaving CSK with an uphill battle and too many runs to chase.
