[Saba Sports News] Legendary Australian all-rounder Shane Watson presented his recently launched book, ‘The Winner’s Mindset,’ to Indian cricket star and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batter Virat Kohli on Monday, April 1. Additionally, Watson also shared his book with other RCB players, including Glenn Maxwell and skipper Faf du Plessis.
Du Plessis commended Watson for consolidating his knowledge in one accessible resource to aid young cricketers in understanding the mental aspects of the game. He urged aspiring cricketers to delve into the book, praising Watson for simplifying complex concepts.
“Having read this book, I feel privileged to have absorbed the wealth of knowledge contained within it. I believe Indian cricketers will benefit greatly from it. The mental aspect of cricket is often overlooked, and Watson has adeptly simplified it for athletes. It’s essential reading,” remarked Du Plessis in a video shared by Watson.
Meanwhile, RCB has had a mixed start in the ongoing IPL season, winning just one out of three matches. They commenced with a defeat against Chennai Super Kings but bounced back with a victory over Punjab Kings. However, their winning streak was short-lived as they lost to Kolkata Knight Riders in their third fixture.
Despite the team’s inconsistent performance, Kohli has been a standout performer, emerging as the leading run-scorer of the season with 181 runs from three innings at an average of 90.50.
RCB is scheduled to face Lucknow Super Giants on Tuesday, April 2 at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru, aiming to return to winning ways.
