[Saba Sports News] Memphis Grizzlies’ Ja Morant made a dramatic return to the basketball court, hitting a decisive game-winner in his first game back after a 25-game suspension. In Tuesday’s match against the New Orleans Pelicans at the Smoothie King Center, Morant, an All-Star, showcased his on-court prowess by leading the Grizzlies to a narrow 115-113 victory.
Morant, 24, scored a remarkable 34 points, including the crucial final basket as the game concluded. His performance was pivotal in reversing a 24-point deficit, spearheading a significant second-half rally for the team.
The suspension, which lasted for 25 games, was a result of Morant’s second incident involving gun-flashing in May. A similar occurrence had led to a previous suspension in March.
Grizzlies’ coach Taylor Jenkins had a specific message for Morant as he returned to play, which Morant seems to have embraced fully, delivering an exceptional performance.
