[Saba Sports News] After his suspension, Draymond Green’s return in the game against the Sacramento Kings left Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr dissatisfied. Kerr expressed his displeasure with Green for receiving a technical foul in the fourth quarter following several disputes with the referees. Green first reacted strongly to not receiving a foul call and then again when Stephen Curry was fouled shortly after.
While Green’s behavior wasn’t extreme, his expressive manner and known reputation drew Kerr’s attention. Kerr emphasized his disappointment with Green, particularly at a crucial moment in the game. “Draymond is a key driver of our results, and while he’s aware of his influential role, he needs to control it better,” Kerr stated on 95.7 The Game’s “Willard and Dibs,” as reported by Tristi Rodriguez of NBC Sports Bay Area. Kerr highlighted the technical foul’s timing as it shifted the momentum towards Sacramento, urging Green to improve his conduct.
Following Green’s technical foul and subsequent benching, the Kings launched a 26-16 run and ultimately won the game, overcoming a 24-point deficit.
The Warriors have always valued Green’s passion and emotional play as essential to his success. However, Kerr has recently been more vocal about the need for Green to moderate his intensity. Green himself is evidently frustrated by how his reputation affects officiating and discipline, a challenge he will have to navigate regardless of his feelings.
