[Saba Sports News] Last month, Guenther Steiner brought his former club, Haas F1 Team, to court, seeking compensation for unpaid wages and unauthorized use of his image. Haas F1 Team is retaliating by accusing Steiner of copyright infringement related to his book “Surviving to Drive”. Allegedly, Steiner utilized Haas Automation’s trademarks without permission in the book, which has sold over 150,000 copies as of January 2024, generating revenue exceeding $4.5 million. Haas, a relatively new private team in F1, relies on purchasing components from Ferrari to maintain competitiveness within their budget. Despite foregoing the 2021 season to focus on developing their 2022 car, expectations fell short due to a series of setbacks, including the poor performance of their drivers, notably Mick Schumacher. Ultimately, Steiner was dismissed from the team without formal farewell.
