[Saba Sports News] According to German media reports, Japanese star Makoto Hasebe will serve as the assistant coach of Eintracht Frankfurt’s U21 team in the upcoming season. The 40-year-old Hasebe will retire this summer. He held a farewell press conference in Tokyo last week, expressing his hope to become Frankfurt’s coach in the future. And now, a few days later, part of his wish has come true. Frankfurt Club has confirmed that Makoto Hasebe will indeed serve as the assistant coach of the club’s U21 team in the new season. Frankfurt stated, “As an assistant coach, Makoto Hasebe can gain valuable experience and make a direct contribution to the team. His football intelligence is very high, and we believe he possesses all the qualities to become a good coach.” It is reported that Hasebe will work alongside 31-year-old Dennis Schmidt and 27-year-old Mustafa in charge of Eintracht Frankfurt’s U21 team.
