[Saba Sports News] The Dutch national team has announced that it will auction off the jerseys worn by the players during the European Championship and donate the proceeds to charity. An official statement from the Dutch team read, “The Dutch Football Association will once again hold an auction for the jerseys worn by the national players during the European Cup. The net proceeds from the online auction will be donated to Het Vergeten Kind, an organization dedicated to providing safety and love-filled homes for every child in the Netherlands.” It is worth noting that this is not the first time the Dutch national team has taken such action. Previously, after the European qualifiers match between the Netherlands and France in March 2023, the jerseys worn by the Dutch players were displayed and auctioned, with the funds raised being donated to those affected by the earthquake in Turkey. Euro 2024 is the 17th European football championship, managed by the Union of European Football Associations, and will be held in ten cities in Germany from June 14 to July 14, 2024, with the participation of 24 teams. As the host nation, Germany automatically qualifies for the finals.
