[Saba Sports News] On June 8, team owners will meet with F1 in Canada to discuss the new regulations for 2026. Some teams are voicing concerns that the current rules set by the FIA may hinder the achievement of their reform goals. McLaren F1 team believes that reducing downforce by 30% and drag by 55% will result in the car being too slow in corners but too fast on straights. They suggest the need for adjustments to balance these aspects and avoid rollover accidents. Ferrari F1 team argues that the increase in single-lap energy recovery from 2MJ/lap to 8.5MJ/lap is insufficient for the 350KW MGU-K motor, potentially leading to frequent power loss. The Red Bull F1 team worries that the motor output proportions require a larger battery, adding weight to the car, making it difficult to achieve the overall weight reduction goal of 30kg and potentially causing significant expenses for weight reduction. The Alpine F1 team hopes for more detailed information from the FIA regarding the active aerodynamic package for the front and rear wings. It is reported that this meeting was added to the agenda and organized by F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali.
