[Saba Sports News] Jayson Tatum’s celebration after winning the NBA championship reminded many Celtics and NBA fans of Kevin Garnett’s iconic moment 16 years earlier.
Following the Celtics’ 106-88 victory over the Dallas Mavericks in Game 5 of the NBA Finals on Monday, Tatum put his hands on his head and yelled, “We did it!” This gesture echoed Garnett’s famous “Anything is possible!” shout after the Celtics won the championship in 2008.
Tatum’s celebration seemed almost rehearsed, perfectly capturing Garnett’s spirit. With the help of Jaylen Brown, Kristaps Porzingis, Jrue Holiday, and others, Tatum has now brought the Celtics their 18th championship, a milestone that Magic Johnson isn’t too happy about.
