The Golden State Warriors star has been the target of a harsh meme recently, with users commenting on unrelated posts about his 0/10 shooting performance in the Warriors’ season-ending loss to the Sacramento Kings during the April play-in tournament.
On Monday, Thompson addressed the meme on Instagram. After sharing his offseason hobbies, he received numerous “0/10” comments. He responded to one user who said, “you already knew people were going to talk about your 0/10 game before posting this.”
Thompson replied, “hey young fella, I’m rooting for you. Eat your greens and get proper sleep nightly, and you will make the NBA one day through hard work and perseverance.”
Thompson’s response highlights that he is an NBA player, unlike his trolls. This is particularly notable for a five-time All-Star and four-time champion recognized as one of the greatest shooters in NBA history.
Thompson’s future is uncertain as he is set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer after spending 13 seasons with the Warriors. Earlier reports hinted at his mindset heading into free agency.
