[Saba Sports News] On June 19, the “Champions Physical Education Class” event was held at the Beijing Foreign Affairs University. Olympic champion and Vice Chairman of the Chinese Badminton Association, Gao Ling, attended the event to explain the essence of sportsmanship to teachers and students and to teach badminton skills. Gao Ling, in her talk titled “These Things in the Years of Badminton,” combined the topics of sports and people-to-people diplomacy to introduce the glorious history of the Chinese badminton team and the inspirational stories behind the championships. She shared her views on sportsmanship and the role of diplomacy in sports. Gao Ling’s most outstanding achievement is winning consecutive Olympic badminton mixed doubles titles. She and her partner overcame various challenges, including injuries, to become legends in the badminton world. Gao Ling encouraged the graduating students to actively participate in sports, embody the sports spirit, fight tenaciously, and not be afraid of challenges. In the subsequent “Champions Physical Education Class” session, Gao Ling demonstrated technical movements and taught playing skills to the enthusiastic teachers and students.
