[Saba Sports News] A “friendly” game between France and Germany on Saturday night turned intense for a couple of NBA players.
France and Germany faced off at Lanxess Arena in Cologne, Germany, as they prepared for the Olympics. France won the game despite Evan Fournier being ejected after an incident with Dennis Schroder in the second quarter.
Schroder was driving to the basket with Germany down 41-23 when he collided with Fournier, who had stripped the ball. An alternate angle showed Schroder reacting to being knocked down by putting his hands on Fournier’s neck, prompting Fournier to choke Schroder in response. Fournier was ejected, having scored 5 points in 8 minutes.
Victor Wembanyama shone in the game, leading all scorers with 25 points. Schroder led Germany with 23 points, despite the absence of Franz and Mo Wagner and Daniel Theis.
