[Saba Sports News] The Ja Morant redemption tour has taken a significant first step.
The Memphis Grizzlies point guard has been fully cleared for all basketball activities, according to The Commercial Appeal’s Damichael Cole. Morant’s 2023-24 season was cut short by a serious shoulder injury in January, limiting him to nine games where he averaged 25.1 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 8.1 assists.
The Grizzlies ended with a 27-55 record, missing the playoffs for the first time since Morant’s rookie season in 2019-20.
However, injuries weren’t Morant’s only issue last year. He served a 25-game suspension after flashing a gun on social media for the second time. The first incident in March 2023 led to an 8-game suspension, and the second occurred weeks later during an Instagram live session.
Entering his age-25 season, Morant has a chance to move past his injuries and off-court troubles.
