[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, if Gareth Southgate decides not to renew his contract, the Football Association has prepared a shortlist of potential successors. Currently, Southgate’s contract with the Football Association is set to expire in December. If he chooses not to continue as the England coach, the Football Association already has a list of potential replacements. The reported shortlist includes Newcastle coach Eddie Howe, former Chelsea coach Graham Potter, England U21 coach Lee Carsley, and Argentina’s Mauricio Pochettino. Before the start of the European Cup, FA CEO Mark Bullingham mentioned that they have a shortlist of potential new coaches, but he declined to disclose any names, stating that the FA has not made contact with them yet. In case of a coaching change, Mark Bullingham and the FA’s technical director John McDermott will lead the decision-making process. It is understood that the Football Association still prefers to appoint local coaches.
