(SabaSports) The Utah Jazz have given wing star Johnny Juzang a four-year contract extension. According to Hoops Rumors reporter Luke Adams, the total value of the contract is $11.425 million. The first year of the contract will pay $3.088 million and the next three years will be non-guaranteed. So if the Jazz choose to cut Juzan next June, they won’t be affected in terms of salary for the 2025-26 season.

Zhuzan’s contract is regressive, with $2.84 million in the second year, $2.71 million in the third and $2.79 million in the fourth. The Jazz’s goal is to push the team’s total payroll above the salary cap ($140.6 million). By using the early bird rights to provide Juzan with this contract, the Jazz’s total payroll has reached $141.6 million. If the Jazz had offered Juzan a base salary, he would have made only $2.088 million next season given that he had only played two seasons in the NBA, which would still have prevented the Jazz from pushing his total salary above the salary cap.
