[Saba Sports News] Newcastle United recently announced that Sandro Tonali will end his 10-month suspension and return to the field on August 28th. It is reported that Newcastle has received official confirmation from the Italian Football Federation that Tonali’s suspension will last until August 27th. In October 2023, the gambling scandal involving Nicolo Fagioli broke out, and Tonali was also involved. In October last year, the Italian Football Federation officially announced that Tonali, the 23-year-old midfielder for Newcastle, was suspended for 10 months due to the gambling scandal, plus an additional 8 months of alternative provisions (gambling addiction treatment + at least 16 face-to-face hearings), and fined 20,000 euros. At that time, Tonali’s gambling behavior occurred during his time at AC Milan, but the Italian Football Federation traced these violations and expanded the suspension to a global level. On March 28th of this year, the English Football Association accused Tonali of betting irregularities during his time at Newcastle, and he will face new sanctions. On May 2nd, the English Football Association announced a new punishment decision, adding a suspended ban of 2 months and a fine of £20,000 to Tonali.
