[Saba Sports News] According to Brazilian media reports, Vinicius Junior will establish the main headquarters of his social project, the “Vinicius Junior Institute,” in his hometown of Sao Goncalo. According to the announcement from the state government office, the athlete’s project was the only candidate project in the public bidding process in June this year and eventually won. It is reported that the agreement requires an investment of 20 million reais (approximately €3.3 million) for the renovation of the site. The new social center will be able to accommodate 5,000 people and provide free education, sports, and cultural activities for the surrounding community. The land use rights will last for ten years and can be renewed. Currently, the institute has offices in the Bairro de Barrada-Tijuca in Rio de Janeiro and has a technical center in public schools. Now, Vinicius Junior and his representatives need to restore the site and manage the facility in the form of educational and social activities, providing free spots. The state government office stated in a statement that the signing of the contract will be arranged within five working days and reviewed the relevant procedures: the bidding was specifically for non-profit social organizations. The only bidder, the Vinicius Junior Development Institute, has been approved according to the bidding documents’ requirements.
