(SabaSports) Phil Jones has officially announced his retirement from football. The 32-year-old England defender confirmed the decision in an interview. Jones left United as a free agent last summer but has yet to find a new club.

According to Simon Stone, Jones joined United’s Under-18 team last year with a view to becoming a coach. Jones, who started his career at Blackburn Rovers, joined United in 2011 for a fee of 19.3m and played until July 2023. During his time at United, he made 229 appearances, scoring six goals and providing eight assists, while also playing 27 times for England.
