(SabaSports) Liverpool beat Ipswich Town 2-0 in the first round of the new Premier League season. Mohamed Salah opened the scoring in the 65th minute to double Liverpool’s lead. This goal not only helped the team to seal the win, but also let Salah create a new record in the history of the Premier League.

With that goal, Salah took his tally to nine goals in the opening round of Premier League games, surpassing the previous record holder Alan Shearer, Wayne Rooney and Frank Lampard, who all scored eight. Salah thus became the Premier League history of the first round of scoring the most players.
Salah has scored or assisted in the first round of every Premier League game since 2017-18. He was directly involved in a total of 14 goals (9 goals and 5 assists), becoming the Premier League’s all-time leading goalscorer in the first round, which further cemented his place in the history of the Premier League.
