[Saba Sports News] After the summer break, F1 will return to the eyes of fans. Yesterday, the organizers of the Dutch Grand Prix confirmed that internationally renowned singer-songwriter Duncan Laurence will perform the Dutch national anthem, “Wilhelmus,” at the 2024 F1 Dutch Grand Prix this weekend. He will be a guest performer alongside Dutch violinist and conductor Andre Rieu at the Zandvoort circuit. According to the organizers, Laurence will personally play the piano and sing the national anthem before the start of the race. The entire circuit will be bathed in the colors of red, white, and blue, and the opening ceremony is expected to hold the largest flag-raising ceremony in Dutch sports history. Laurence is looking forward to the opening of the Dutch Grand Prix and considers it a great honor to perform “Wilhelmus” at the event. He is delighted to share this proud moment with fans from around the world. According to records, Duncan Laurence began his music career in 2014 and reached the semifinals of The Voice of Holland Season 5. In the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest final, Duncan Laurence performed the song “Arcade” and won the competition.
