[Saba Sports News] Former F2 driver Clement Novalak, now competing in the European Le Mans Series, expressed surprise during a media interview regarding the negative perception some have of his friend Max Verstappen. Novalak said, “I personally really like Verstappen; in a way, he is someone who doesn’t like to talk nonsense. He comes to the track, gets in the car, drives, and then leaves. Many people dislike him for this because they don’t understand him correctly. Besides racing, he has no other interests.” Novalak joined F2 at the end of 2021 and was introduced to Verstappen in 2022; they have since become friends. I believe Verstappen is undoubtedly one of the most controversial drivers in the paddock; for every fan he has, there seems to be an equal number of detractors. In fact, at times, those who dislike him may even outnumber his supporters.
