(SabaSports) Simon Jordan, the former Crystal Palace owner and football commentator, has written about Chelsea’s recent massive investment. Chelsea owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali have a strategy that focuses on long-term goals rather than short-term results. By selling off some of its assets, Chelsea has been able to balance its finances while avoiding breaches of the Financial Fair Play Act. Despite the widespread criticism of this strategy, the Blues owners appear to be more focused on achieving their long-term business goals.

Chelsea have spent £1.2bn on players since 2022 and that spending pattern appears to show no signs of stopping. So what exactly is their financial plan? Jordan points out that this “spending like a drunk” is hardly rational, but he tries to get away from the idealistic view and understand the strategic way Berle and Egbali think.
