[Saba Sports News] United spent the summer trying to sell Jadon Sancho and, despite an apparent settlement with manager Erik ten Hag, the 24-year-old England winger never made a public apology and ultimately failed to make another Premier League appearance. United agreed a lean-to-buy deal with Chelsea on transfer deadline day, allowing Sancho to fulfil what he calls his “dream of a car” (a childhood dream of playing for Chelsea).

Sancho had been close to joining Juventus, but the deal was put on hold after the Serie A giants offered only a loan plus an optional buyout, which United insisted must be forced to avoid a £73m “return” for the future.
The delay in the transfer led United manager Tenhaag to say Sancho would stay at his pre-match press conference with Liverpool. He said: “He is in our squad and we are very happy with him. We need a strong squad because the team has a lot of games before January. After the international break, teams play every three days, so we need more options.”
However, even as Tenhag made his comments, negotiations for Sancho’s transfer continued behind the scenes. Chelsea had intended to offer Raheem Sterling for Sancho, but the process was too complicated as Sterling enjoyed a £325,000-a-week wage at Stamford Bridge and it ultimately fell through. On transfer deadline day, Sterling’s agents and lawyers turned to Arsenal to negotiate a deal that eventually led to Sterling joining the Arsenal.
