In a recent Complex segment, when asked who he thought the worst NBA player was, Shaq immediately mentioned Gobert. When the host brought up Simmons, Shaq didn’t hold back, calling him “another bum.”
Known for his tough criticism, Shaq explained in a USA Today interview why he’s been so hard on both players. His main point: with Gobert earning $205 million and Simmons $177 million, Shaq believes they should be playing at a level that matches their hefty paychecks.
“Rudy and Ben, show me what you got,” Shaq said. “I’m not hating, I’m telling the truth. You’re getting paid millions—step your game up. Now it’s viral, so prove me wrong, Rudy and Ben. Shut me up.”
