[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, former Manchester City player Benjamin Mendy will take Manchester City to court after filing a lawsuit against the club regarding unpaid wages. Mendy was accused of sexual assault in 2021 and subsequently filed legal action against his former employer over issues such as “unauthorized wage deductions.” Reports indicate that starting from October 14, the Manchester Employment Tribunal will hold a two-day hearing. In July 2023, at Chester Crown Court, a jury retried Benjamin Mendy and found him not guilty. Previously, Mendy had been acquitted; however, the jury could not reach a consensus on two charges, leading to a retrial. Mendy has been seeking payment from Manchester City for his owed wages, believing that his contract expired in June 2023. In 2017, Manchester City paid £52 million to Monaco for Mendy, making him the most expensive defender in Premier League history at that time.
