[Saba Sports News] Zach Lowe talks about the problems facing the Los Angeles Lakers on NBA Today. “The Lakers need a good wing player on offense and defense,” he said. The Lakers, like almost every other team in the league, are scrambling for such a wing player, and all but the Boston Celtics, New Orleans Pelicans and a handful of other teams are in need of one. Good wingers are hard to find and hard to develop. I think Max Christie is important for the Lakers.”

“Christie is an interesting young player,” Lowe continued. “That doesn’t mean he’s going to be a 30-minute-to-3-D player this season. I don’t even know if he’s going to get more minutes than [Javante] McCoy, but the Lakers need him to develop into a useful role.”
Christie signed a four-year, $32 million contract extension with the Lakers this summer. Last season, Christie averaged 4.2 points and 2.1 rebounds per game.
