[Saba Sports News] Bangladesh will tour India for a two-match Test series starting Thursday in Chennai, marking only their third Test series in India.
The second match is set for September 27 in Kanpur. This series kicks off India’s Test season, which also includes a home series against New Zealand and an away series in Australia.
Although Bangladesh played India in their debut Test in 2000, their first red-ball tour of India came in 2017. This will be the ninth series between the two sides, with Bangladesh aiming for their first Test win against India after recently defeating Pakistan at home.
However, winning a Test in India remains one of cricket’s toughest challenges, something Bangladesh’s experienced players understand well.
In their last tour, India swept the series 2-0. In the first Test, Bangladesh were bowled out for 130, with India’s pacers dominating. India replied with a massive 493/6 declared, with Mayank Agarwal scoring 243. India won by an innings and 130 runs.
The second Test at Eden Gardens was India’s first pink-ball Test and Ishant Sharma’s 100th. He took five wickets as Bangladesh were dismissed for 106. Virat Kohli scored 136, and India won comfortably.
That match also marked the start of Kohli’s century drought, which ended in 2022 with his first T20I century. His Test century
