[Saba Sports News] French Ligue 1 team Marseille recently announced a significant piece of news on their official website: they have reached a principle agreement to sign free agent Adrien Rabiot. However, this signing has drawn considerable attention from both Marseille and Paris Saint-Germain fans, as Rabiot came through PSG’s youth academy and played for them for many years. He had previously stated that he would never play for arch-rivals Marseille, making his current actions seem contradictory. When he was 21, Rabiot said in an interview: “Marseille is not an option for me at all. Initially, when I discussed this with my family, I thought it was a joke. Playing for Marseille is completely unimaginable.” This drastic change in attitude has indeed surprised many and may become a point of ridicule for some. I believe that the derby between Paris and Marseille has been known for its intense rivalry over the years, and it is hard to imagine how Rabiot will be treated at PSG’s home ground this new season.
