The legendary Robert ‘Sonny’ Jaworski Sr. will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 30th annual Awards ceremony to be held on September 24 at the Novotel Alaneta City, Manila. This award recognizes outstanding individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the PBA.
Jaworski is the second person to receive the honor. The first recipient was Alaska team owner Wilfred Uytengsu, who first won the award during the PBA Journalists Association’s 25th anniversary celebration in 2019.
One of the most popular players in PBA history, Jaworski won the love of Filipino fans not only for his good looks and outstanding basketball skills, but also for his natural leadership skills. His outstanding performance and charisma on the court made him an enduring legend in Philippine basketball history.
Jawowski, 78 years old, has played in a total of 23 PBA seasons in his career, representing Toyota and Barangay Ginebra. That record was only equalized two years ago by the big man Asi Taulava.
