[Saba Sports News] Recently, Real Madrid officially announced that another fan has been sentenced for racially discriminating against Vinicius Junior. Real Madrid Football Club stated that the Third Investigative Court in Palma, Mallorca has convicted a person for racially insulting our player Vinicius Junior in the stands at Son Moix Stadium. The incident occurred during the match between Mallorca and Real Madrid on February 5, 2023. The defendant was found guilty of two moral offenses, one against Vinicius Junior and another against then-Villarreal player Samuel Chukwueze, who suffered similar insults at Villarreal’s stadium. Since both charges were motivated by racism, the penalties were aggravated. The court sentenced the defendant to twelve months in prison and banned him from entering stadiums hosting matches of the National Professional Football League and the Royal Spanish Football Federation for three years. The defendant has been granted probation, with the condition that he participates in an equality and anti-discrimination program and apologizes to Vinicius while expressing remorse. This is the third criminal case in recent months resulting in a conviction for racist insults against Real Madrid players.
